On Thursday, the International Energy Agency (IEA) lowered its forecast for global oil demand growth in 2024 in its September monthly report, mainly because weak global economic growth prospects and improvements in energy efficiency will drag down oil consumption. The agency lowered its forecast for global oil demand growth in 2024 to 880,000 barrels per day from the previous forecast of 1 million barrels per day.
