| Description of properties: | Colorless oily liquid. Melting point -4.76°C, boiling point 128.3°C (0.8kPa), relative density 1.0005 (20/4°C), refractive index 1.4548, flash point 35°C. Miscible with water, acetone, benzene, ethers, alcohols, glycols and oils. It has hygroscopicity and ammonia odor. With water vapor can be volatile. |
| Production method: | It is obtained by dehydration and cyclization of diethanolamine with sulfuric acid. Add diethanolamine into the water reaction pot, add sulfuric acid dropwise below 60°C, after the addition is complete, raise the temperature to 185-195°C, and keep it warm for 30 minutes. Cool to below 60°C, add sodium hydroxide solution dropwise to pH = 11, cool, filter, rectify the filtrate, collect fractions below 130°C, the content of refined morpholine can reach more than 99.5%. The raw materials of this method are easy to get, and it has become the main method of producing morpholine in the world. Morpholine can be prepared by gas-phase catalytic reaction of dioxane and ammonia. |
| Application: | Mainly used in the production of rubber vulcanization accelerators, also used in surfactants, textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries , medicine, pesticide synthesis. Morpholine is also used as a catalyst for the polymerization of butadiene, a corrosion inhibitor, and an optical bleaching agent. This product is also a solvent for dyes, resins, waxes, early glue, and casein. At present, the output of morpholine in the world is 30,000-40,000 t/a. Morpholine salts are also widely used, and morpholine hydrochloride (10024-89-2) is an intermediate in organic synthesis; morpholine fatty acid salts can be used as coating agents for fruits or melons and vegetables Inhibit radical respiration, prevent water volatilization and epidermal atrophy. |
