Sorbitol, also known as sorbitol. It is white hygroscopic powder or crystalline powder, flakes or granules, odorless. Depending on the crystallization conditions, the melting point changes in the range of 88~102℃, and the relative density is about 1.49. Easily soluble in water (1g dissolves in about 0.45mL water), slightly soluble in ethanol and acetic acid. It has a refreshing sweetness, the sweetness is about half that of sucrose, and its caloric value is similar to that of sucrose.
Sorbitol (sorbitol) has the following functions in the textile industry:
Adding sorbitol to fabrics helps in the printing and dyeing of fabrics. Its mixture with ethylene glycol can be used as a conditioner for nylon and polypropylene fibers;
As a detergent, sorbitol can chelate iron and copper ions in fabric bleaching solutions or cleaning solutions.
In the solution formula to improve the washing and wearing resistance of cotton fiber, sorbitol can be used as a scavenger for unreacted formaldehyde and a toughening agent after decontamination;
Sorbitan anhydride Monooleate is often used as a dry cleaning agent in combination with anionic surfactants;
The condensation product of sorbitol and epichlorohydrin can be used as a fabric softener after reacting with triethylene triamine hydrazine stearate. �
