In June China imported 30.018 million tons of thermal coal a year-on-year increase of 137.24%

The latest data from the General Administration of Customs shows that in June 2023, China imported 30.018 million tons of thermal coal (including lignite, bituminous coal and sub-bituminous coal, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 137.24% and a month-on-month decrease of 4.35%.

From January to June 2023, China imported a total of 167 million tons of thermal coal, a year-on-year increase of 82.5024 million tons or 98.16%.

In June 2023, China imported 12.199 million tons of lignite, a year-on-year increase of 39.35% and a month-on-month decrease of 12.42%.

From January to June 2023, China imported a total of 834.15 billion tons of lignite, a year-on-year increase of 32.994 million tons or 65.44%.
