
Foreign media news on July 5: According to the Chilean government agency Cochilco on Wednesday, Chile's total copper production in May fell by 14% year-on-year to 408,200 tons. Production at state-owned giant Codelco fell 22.4% year-on-year to 110,900 tonnes, while output at Collahuasi, a joint venture between Anglo American and Glencore, fell 11.8% to 43,200 tonnes. Cochilco said production at the Escondida copper mine fell 21.5% to 83,900 tonnes. The copper mine is controlled by Anglo-Australian mining giant BHP Billiton.
