China's Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday demanded that the United States immediately lift import tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum. China's Ministry of Commerce said China had taken note of the WTO panel's findings and was studying the report, adding that the root cause lay in "unilateral and protectionist behavior" by the U.S. side. China's adoption of countermeasures in accordance with the law is a legitimate move to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
