Pregis Introduces New High Pressure Protective Packaging Film

Global Polyurethane Network, January 29th: Pregis has recently developed two high-performance films for inflatable cushioning applications, and is currently applying for patents. Hybrid Buffer (HC) performance films are suitable for high pressure applications where products are transported or stored for long periods of time.

HC Performance "Plus" is the strongest HC material Pregis has ever designed to utilize air retention properties to protect heavy loads. HC performance films are a better choice for packaging lightweight products that require high pressure cushioning and protection, exceeding American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards D2221 and D6653 for creep and height respectively.

A hybrid cushion differs from traditional void-fill cushions in that it has multiple square-shaped air cells within a single unit. Pregis' AirSpeed ​​HC Versa unit loads HC coils and automatically expands them. The expanded high-pressure chamber provides ideal cushioning as air is transferred in a separate space.
