With the heating season approaching, domestic natural gas supply capacity has increased. Today (November 2), my country's first independently developed 270,000 cubic meter liquefied natural gas storage tank was put into operation in Qingdao. This is also the largest liquefied natural gas storage tank in the country. Its commissioning has greatly improved the natural gas supply guarantee capability in North China.
The country’s first 270,000 cubic meter LNG storage tank is located in Qingdao City, Shandong Province. It has a diameter of 100.6 meters and a height of 55 meters. The space inside the tank can accommodate a domestic C919 large passenger aircraft. It is currently the largest in China and has the fastest construction speed. The first completed ultra-large liquefied natural gas storage tank.
Wu Bin, General Manager of Qingdao LNG Company, Sinopec Natural Gas Branch: During the construction process, we jointly developed a 270,000 cubic meter full-capacity LNG (liquefied natural gas) storage tank technology with the project team, and we also increased localization. Equipment application has increased the localization level of storage tanks to 95%, making it the LNG storage tank with the highest degree of localization at present.
With the rapid growth of natural gas consumption in our country, the construction of infrastructure such as liquefied natural gas receiving stations has accelerated. Thanks to the improvement of my country's design and construction technology, receiving stations are developing towards ultra-large capacity. The commissioning of the 270,000 cubic meter LNG storage tank has given Qingdao LNG receiving station an additional gas storage capacity of 165 million cubic meters, which can meet the gas demand of 2.16 million households for the five months of the heating season.
Wu Bin, General Manager of Qingdao LNG Company, Sinopec Natural Gas Branch: The smooth commissioning of this storage tank has also increased the annual transfer capacity of Qingdao LNG (liquefied natural gas) receiving station to 11 million tons, and the annual gas supply capacity has exceeded to 16.5 billion cubic meters, officially entering the ranks of 10-million-ton LNG (liquefied natural gas) receiving stations.
Qingdao LNG receiving station is the only LNG receiving terminal currently in use in Shandong Province. The gas supply covers Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei, Henan and other provinces and cities. It is one of the main gas sources in North my country. Since the receiving station was put into operation in November 2014, the natural gas exported has exceeded 44.8 billion cubic meters.
